SAFETY CORRECTION - the most common number on the internet for this truck is wrong. Aftermarket torque aggregators and several dealer blog pages state 165 lb-ft for the 2023+ F-250. Ford's own owner's manual says 150 lb-ft (204 Nm). I verified this myself by extracting the torque table out of the 2023 (p.519), 2024 (p.518) and 2025 (p.540) owner's manual PDFs with my own tooling rather than trusting a prior transcription. 165 lb-ft was Ford's spec for MY2017-2019 only; Ford reduced it to 150 lb-ft starting MY2020 and it has stayed there through at least MY2025. Ship 150, not 165. GENERATION LABEL CORRECTED BY THE VERIFIER. The submitted record, and the vehicle brief it was written from, both called this "14th-gen Super Duty (P558)". Both parts are wrong. P558 is the 2017-2022 Super Duty; Ford's own live part page for M-1007K-S2008GBM2 describes the 2023-2026 Super Duty wheel as a "P708 Black package wheel", so the 2023 redesign is program P708. "14th generation" is F-Series light-duty body-generation numbering (the 14th-gen F-150 is 2021+) and does not apply to Super Duty, which is numbered separately: 1999-2007, 2008-2010, 2011-2016, 2017-2022 (P558), 2023- (P708). This is a labeling error, not a safety error, but on a fitment site a wrong platform code invites cross-listing against the wrong truck. BOLT PATTERN: 8 x 170 mm. Confirmed by two separate Ford Performance Parts wheel listings that explicitly name "2023-2024 Super Duty F-250 and F-350 Single Rear Wheel Models" and state "8-lug 170 mm bolt circle"; I fetched and text-extracted both archived pages myself and they are genuine, not paraphrased. Those two part pages have since been delisted and now 404 on ford.com, so I looked for live Ford corroboration and found it: Ford Performance still sells M-1007-S2008GBM, a 20 x 8 in. bare wheel whose live page states "Fits 2005 - 2026 Super Duty F-250 and F-350 Single Rear Wheel Models", and the live Ford-hosted Ford Performance 2020 Catalog (p.76) states "8-lug 170 mm bolt circle" for that same wheel family. One part number spanning 2005-2026 plus a Ford-printed bolt circle for that family closes the chain on live pages alone. Ford's split of kit part numbers at 2022/2023 (S2008GB1 = 2005-2022, S2008GB2 = 2023-2026) tracks the TPMS sensor change to 433 MHz, not a change in wheel mounting. This is NOT the F-150's 6x135 - do not cross-list. The 2023 manual's 8-wheel-nut torque sequence, printed under the heading "F-250 and F-350 Single Rear Wheel Vehicles", is consistent. OFFSET: +40 mm is OEM-stated, but only for the 18 x 8 in. and 20 x 8 in. aluminum wheels (both Ford Performance pages give 40 mm offset / 156.5 mm backspacing). No Ford document found states the offset of the 17 in. steel XL wheel; treat +40 as applying to the 18s and 20s only. CENTER BORE 124.9 mm IS NOT OEM-CONFIRMED. I checked this myself rather than taking it on report: no Ford document located states a hub or center-bore diameter. The 2023 owner's manual only labels the feature ("Hub pilot bore. A") with no dimension; I searched the 2023 Super Duty Body Builders Layout Book for "bolt circle", "lug", "stud", "hub" and "170" and it contains no wheel-mounting dimension at all; the press spec sheets give wheel diameters only. 124.9 mm (often rounded to 125 mm) is aftermarket consensus and must be surfaced to users as unverified, not as an OEM figure. THREAD PITCH M14x1.5 is OEM-confirmed - it is the "Bolt Size" column of the manual's torque table, and it reads identically in every manual I opened from 2017 through 2025. NO SEPARATE STEEL-WHEEL TORQUE. Ford's table is indexed by bolt size only and lists a single value, so the 17 in. steel XL wheel and the aluminum wheels both take 150 lb-ft. No lugTorqueSteel applies. RE-TORQUE: retighten to spec within 100 mi (160 km) after any wheel disturbance. The additional 500 mi (800 km) re-torque is written for dual-rear-wheel vehicles only; the F-250 is always SRW, so only the 100 mi re-torque applies. TIRE-LIST SCOPE CAVEAT ADDED BY THE VERIFIER. The tire lineup above is read from the MY2025 and MY2026 press spec sheets. No MY2023 or MY2024 press spec sheet was obtained, so the per-trim tire assignments should not be presented as covering 2023-2024 - trim tire fitments moved even within the sourced years (Lariat is LT275/70R18E A/T on the 2025 sheet and LT275/65R18E A/S on the 2026 sheet, and the XL 33-inch off-road LT285/70R17E appears on the 2025 sheet but not the 2026 one). Bolt pattern, thread pitch and torque are unaffected by this. MY2026 CAVEAT: torque was verified from the 2023, 2024 and 2025 owner's manuals. The MY2026 owner's manual could not be opened - Ford's document host fordservicecontent.com was unreachable from my session throughout this check, including for URLs that are known good. Ford's 2026 press spec sheet shows the same wheel and tire lineup and Ford Performance's live listings say "Fits 2023-2026", so no wheel-system change is indicated, but MY2026 torque is inferred from continuity, not read. ADJACENT-MODEL WARNING: this record is for F-250, which is always single rear wheel. F-350 DRW, F-450, F-550 and F-600 share this manual but not this wheel system - the manual prints a separate procedure for "F-350 Dual Rear Wheel, F-450, F-550 and F-600 Vehicles" and a 10-wheel-nut torque sequence alongside the 8-wheel-nut sequence. Do not reuse this row for those trucks.
2020-2022 4th-gen Super Duty (P558) - post-MY2020 torque
| Bolt pattern | 8x170 (8x6.69) |
|---|---|
| Center bore | 124.9 mm |
| Thread pitch | M14x1.5 |

ROW ADDED BY THE VERIFIER - IT WAS MISSING FROM THE RESEARCHER'S RECORD. The submitted record contained only a 2017-2019 row and a 2023-2026 row, leaving MY2020, 2021 and 2022 with no row at all. The researcher's own notes correctly identified the hazard ("a 2021 owner landing on this row would over-torque by 15 lb-ft") but then shipped data that creates exactly that hazard: prose in a notes field does not protect a user, a row does. On a lookup site a 2021 F-250 owner would either get no result or fall through to the nearest row, which carries 165 lb-ft. These three model years are now explicit. LUG TORQUE 150 lb-ft (204 Nm), read by me directly out of all three owner's manuals (2020 printed p.432, 2021, 2022 printed p.465). Same M14x1.5 bolt size, same single-value table, same 8x170 hub as both neighbouring rows - only the torque differs from 2017-2019. BOLT PATTERN 8x170: Ford states "8-lug 170 mm bolt circle" for this wheel family on 2005-2019 (Ford Performance 2020 Catalog p.76) and again on 2023-2024 (Ford Performance part pages M-1007K-1808SD2 and M-1007K-SU2008EB2). These model years sit between two Ford-stated 8x170 endpoints, and Ford additionally sells single wheel part numbers explicitly spanning them - M-1007K-S2008GB1 "Fits 2005 - 2022" and M-1007-S2008GBM "Fits 2005 - 2026". A wheel cannot bolt to trucks on both sides of these years unless the pattern is continuous. The pattern is therefore OEM-grounded rather than assumed, but be aware it is bracketed for 2020-2022 specifically rather than printed against those exact years, because Ford's current page copy for these parts has been rewritten into marketing prose and no longer restates the dimension. NOT CONFIRMED: offset, center bore and the tire lineup - no MY2020-2022 Ford press spec sheet was obtained. Confidence is medium for that reason; the two safety-critical fields themselves are solid. RE-TORQUE: retighten to spec within 100 mi (160 km) after any wheel disturbance. The additional 500 mi (800 km) re-torque in the manual applies only to dual-rear-wheel vehicles, which the F-250 is not. ADJACENT-MODEL WARNING: F-250 only. F-350 DRW, F-450, F-550 and F-600 share this manual but not this wheel system.
2017-2019 4th-gen Super Duty (P558) - pre-MY2020 torque
| Bolt pattern | 8x170 (8x6.69) |
|---|---|
| Center bore | 124.9 mm |
| Thread pitch | M14x1.5 |
| Lug torque | 165 lb-ft |
| OEM wheel sizes | 20 x 8 in. aluminum (as originally offered on the 2019 F-250/F-350 Lariat Sport Package), 18 x 8 in. aluminum (Ford Performance lists a 2005-2022 18 x 8 in. Super Duty wheel, M-1007K-1808SD), 17 in. steel also offered - width and specification not confirmed from any OEM document |
| OEM offset | unverified |
| OEM tire sizes | unverified - no MY2017-2019 Ford press spec sheet or body builder layout book was obtained |
THIS ROW ISOLATES A MID-GENERATION TORQUE CHANGE and is the most dangerous thing on the page to get wrong. Ford specified 165 lb-ft (224 Nm) for MY2017-2019 and 150 lb-ft (204 Nm) from MY2020 onward, on the identical M14x1.5 stud and identical 8x170 hub. I read both figures myself out of Ford owner's manual PDFs (2017 printed p.409 and 2019 printed p.417 = 165; 2020 p.432, 2021, 2022 p.465 = 150), extracting the text with my own tooling rather than relying on a prior transcription. DO NOT MERGE THIS ROW WITH THE NEXT ONE. 2017-2019 = 165 lb-ft; 2020 onward = 150 lb-ft. A 2021 owner shown 165 would over-torque by 15 lb-ft and a 2018 owner shown 150 would under-torque by the same amount. EXTRA INSTRUCTION UNIQUE TO THIS ERA: the 2017 and 2019 manuals both add, for two-piece flat wheel nuts, one drop of motor oil between the flat washer and the nut, and explicitly NO oil on the stud or nut threads. That sentence is gone from the 2023+ manuals. If the site renders a procedure for these years it should carry it. BOLT PATTERN 8x170 is OEM-confirmed for these years by the Ford Performance Parts 2020 Catalog (live Ford-hosted PDF, printed p.76), which states "8-lug 170 mm bolt circle" for the 20 x 8 in. wheel it says fits 2005-2019 F-250/F-350 SRW. This is NOT the F-150's 6x135 - the same catalog page range lists F-150 wheels as "6-lug, 135 mm bolt circle", so the two are distinguished within one Ford document. WHAT IS NOT CONFIRMED: offset, center bore, and the OEM tire lineup. The Ford catalog entry for the 2005-2019 wheel states the bolt circle but prints no offset or backspacing, and no MY2017-2019 Ford press spec sheet was obtained, so oemOffset stays "unverified" and oemTire is left unsourced rather than filled from retailer data. It is likely that the +40 mm / 156.5 mm figures Ford publishes for the 2023-2024 version of this same 20 x 8 in. wheel also apply here - Ford sells a single bare-wheel part number (M-1007-S2008GBM) covering 2005-2026 - but that is an inference across part numbers, not a Ford statement about these model years, so it is deliberately not placed in the offset field. Center bore 124.9 mm is aftermarket consensus only; see the note on the newest row. Only bolt pattern and lug torque are OEM-verified here, which is what sets verified:true; confidence is held at medium because the rest of the row is thin. ADJACENT-MODEL WARNING: F-250 is always single rear wheel. Do not reuse this row for F-350 DRW, F-450, F-550 or F-600, which share the manual but not the wheel system.
Ford F-250 bolt pattern — frequently asked
What is the Ford F-250 bolt pattern?
8x170, which is 8x6.69 in inches, on every F-250 generation in our database (2017–2026).
Do all F-250 model years have the same bolt pattern?
Yes, across 2017–2026: 8x170. But stud thread or lug torque differs between generations or trims, so match your year and trim before buying nuts or torquing wheels. Years outside 2017–2026 are not in our database and are not covered by this answer.
Is 8x170 the same as 8x6.69?
Yes. 8x170 is the metric notation and 8x6.69 the inch notation of the same bolt pattern (170 mm ÷ 25.4).
Will 8x165.1 (8x6.5) wheels fit a F-250?
No. The F-250 is 8x170; 8x165.1 is 4.9 mm smaller and not interchangeable.
Which other vehicles use the same 8x170 bolt pattern as the F-250?
No other vehicle in our database uses 8x170 yet.
What is the lug nut torque for a Ford F-250?
2023-2026: 150 lb-ft; 2020-2022: 150 lb-ft; 2017-2019: 165 lb-ft. Use a torque wrench and the manufacturer figure for your exact year; aftermarket wheels may specify their own.
